Backing Talent: East London

While many young people were kicking their heels in this half term break, 50 talented performers from all across east London came together for a unique coaching and mentoring session led by double Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes and her team of elite sports performers.

The BT sponsored programme saw an array of sports stars mentor and coach the young performers, aged between 13-21. Olympic medallist Bryan Steel attended the day as a coach, where he led one of the day's sessions.

Bryan said: "It was fantastic to have the opportunity to work with the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust at the BT 'Backing Talent' event in east London. Having been an elite sports performer, it was great to work with the next generation of up and coming stars and helping them learn what it takes to reach the top."
