"Sport should be an essential part of growing up, and by taking part in our 'Backing Talent' programme ad learning from our elite athletes, these young performers have an opportunity to reach the highest levels in their respective sport."
The event was supported by the West Country's very own South West Regional Talent Development Centre, which is based at The University of Bath. Stephen Baddeley, Director of Sport at the University, said:
"We are delighted to have joined forces with the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust's 'Backing Talent' Programme. Ensuring that the talented stars of the future in this region have the best support available is essential to us. What better way for them to learn then from the charity's team of world class sports stars who truly know what it takes to reach the top?"
Kevin Hamblin, Principal of Filton College, who is hosted the event said:
"It is a real honour for Filton College to have been chosen by Dame Kelly Holmes' charity, the DKH Legacy Trust, to host their first event in the West Country."
