The DKH Legacy Trust works alongside a unique workforce including elite athletes and former military personnel to deliver the 'Making Headway' project.
'Making Headway' aims to develop the personal learning skills of young people aged between 14-16, increase their cultural awareness and citizenship skills as well as enhancing their employment prospects.
Delivered with the help of partners Skill Force, the Trust's 'Making Headway' project normally runs over 12 days and is made up of 3 stages. Our Harnessing Talent athlete mentors are involved for 3 of the 12 days.
Those who complete the programme will achieve Wider Key Skills, which are equivalent to 2 GCSEs at level 1 or 2. The young people who demonstrate leadership qualities are invited to attend an additional leadership training programme.
'Making Headway' has now finished and no longer runs. However, we do have plans to work with them in the future.
