Comic Relief has been a key partner for the Trust. Having funded Get on Track programmes in the past, including the pilot in Knowsley, Liverpool, Comic Relief now fund the Sport for Change programme.
Sport for Change is sees our athlete mentors working with homeless young people on a 6 week project, giving them vital mentoring and key life-skills, including mentoring in physical well-being, staying motivated and working within a tight budget.
Those with a keen sporting interest are also invited to take part in a bespoke sport development programme. Their skills, attitudes and sporting mentality will be developed and harnessed by our elite sports performers.
Trust CEO Julie Whelan said: "The support of Comic Relief has been such a key influence in our work supporting disadvantaged young people.
"Their commitment to the Sport for Change project has already made such a difference to the lives of so many young, homeless people."
