Get on Track

'Get on Track' provides disadvantaged young people (aged 16-25) with the self-discipline, motivation and confidence they need to enhance their chances of employability.

The project provides a focused sport-based personal development programme delivered with ongoing mentoring support from elite athlete role models.

'Get on Track' runs over approximately 8-12 weeks and is carried out in three phases.

On your marks

This phase, running over three days, sees the athlete mentors meet 'Get on Track' attendees for the first time. This allows those involved to become familair with one another and build a working relationship.

Get set

Spread over 3-4 weeks made up of 6 training and mentoring days, this phase of 'Get on Track' sees the athlete mentors take on a greater lead.

This stage sees the attendees carrying out school or community-based projects, where the young people are challenged and placed in situations they've never been in before.

Go!

This final phase revolves around an evening celebrating the successes of the attendees. 'Go!' showcases all the hard work that has been done throughout 'Get on Track'.
