Louise Wolsey

Fundraising is the lifeblood of any charity; especially when the charity is only three years old.

At the Trust, we welcome all fundraisers. However, our communications director, Louise Wolsey, has really set the pace with her own fundraising initiatives for the Trust over the past 3 years.

Louise is now the Trust's front runner in fundraising - she is really 'practicing what she preaches' as she has raised over £4,300 for Dame Kelly's charity through three different events.

In 2009 and 2010 Louise completed the Great South Run. With little running experience to her name, Louise took the proverbial bull by the horns and completed the course, achieving a personal best on both occasions.

For Louise's efforts on the south coast, she managed to raise over £2,500 for the charity; a remarkable achievement for someone who already commits so much of her time to the Trust.

This clearly wasn't enough for Louise, who then thought it would be a wise idea to run, cycle and kayak across Scotland from Nairn in the east to the Isles of Glen Coe in the west, in just one weekend.

The 105 mile challenge saw Louise run 21miles (17 off road), kayak 3miles across Loch Ness and Glen Coeand then cycle 81 miles (16 off-road mountain biking!).

On top of this, Louise also raised close to £2,000 for the Trust! She has really set a great example with her consistent fundraising and support for the charity.

We wouldn't even like to begin speculating what she's got lined up for her next challenge!

Well done and thanks a lot, Lou!
