Working alongside Centrepoint, we are supporting homeless young people on this personal development programme.
Centrepoint is the UK's leading youth homelessness charity. But its support is more than just a safe bed. Centrepoint helps its young people, aged 16-25, into education, training and employment, provides a range of health services, teaches life skills and gives young people a voice through the Centrepoint Parliament.
Our athlete mentors will be working with homeless young people on this 6 week project, giving them vital mentoring and key life-skills, including mentoring in physical well-being, staying motivated and working within a tight budget.
Those with a keen sporting interest will also be invited to take part in a bespoke sport development programme. Their skills, attitudes and sporting mentality will be developed and harnessed by our elite sports performers.
Dame Kelly Holmes said: "I am delighted that my charity is working alongside Centrepoint on the Sport for Change project.
"Centrepoint is the leading charity in working with homeless young people. Combined with the unique mentoring provided by my charity's world-class athletes, I am confident that we will be able to support many disadvantaged young people on this project, and make a real positive impact on their lives."
