While Mo Farah and Chris Thompson have been leading the way for Great Britain in Barcelona, one of our star fundraisers, Bob Lewis, has recently bagged himself a European medal ! Bob, a keen athlete himself, ran in the European Masters Championships in Hungary where he gained a silver in the team GB 4x400m event, as well as getting in the semi finals of the 200m and 400m events!
Bob has shown great strength and courage in his fundraising pursuits for the Trust by constantly battling through injuries and pains, so he was particularly pleased with this achievement and had this to say,
“My main focus has always been getting in shape over the winter to do myself justice at the World Masters in Sacramento next year so to win a medal at a major event this year was a bonus, particularly with the challenges of the last few months. Being fit enough to run again is such a gift in itself though for which I’m thankful and I’m loving every minute of it.”The DKH Legacy Trust’s team of individual fundraisers are the life blood of the work we do with sport and young people. They give up their free time from their day jobs to kindly raise money for the Trust.
With a whole host of challenging events lined up in the next coming months, we’re currently looking for more people to join our team!
Are you about to embark on a sporting, health & fitness or adventure journey and looking to raise money for a charity along the way? Are you passionate about sport and the power it has to help young people into sport, training and employment? Then we want to hear from you!
Raising money for the DKH Legacy Trust is a fantastic way to support the young people we work with whilst inspiring you to achieve your own personal health & fitness goals.
Our next events which we have fundraisers taking part in are:
- Great North Run – 19th September 2010, Newscastle - FULL
- The Great South Run - 24th October 2010, Portsmouth – PLACES AVAILABLE
- Royal Parks Half Marathon – 10th October 2010, London – PLACES AVAILABLE
