The rain (almost) stayed away, the course was fantastic and the teams, even better - that's the story behind the Trust's first golf day, which successfully took place at The London Club yesterday.
Buggies full of eager golfers from the variety of businesses supporting the event and their designated sporting celebrities, scattered the exclusive Heritage course as everyone tried to play their best round to be in with a chance of winning some of the great prizes on offer during the day.
One of the many sporting celebrities in attendance, Sir Steve Redgrave, was caught by our photographer trying his luck to get nearest the pin on the 7th. Competition between himself and Sir Matthew Pinsent, former Olympic Gold medal rowing teammate, was friendly but high, and both enjoyed playing with their respective teams. Sir Pinsent was a late edition to the celebrity line-up and gave a brilliant interview with the BBC South East team who covered the event.

Dame Kelly arrived in the afternoon to cheer on the teams from the safety of her buggy, but eventually couldn't resist having a swing herself. Mark Foster was also out on the course with a K2 team and Dame Kelly stopped for a catch up and quick refreshment break with him.The event culminated in a drinks reception in the bar, where the K2 'Trust Your Routine' putting challenge was enticing all worthy golfers to donate to the Trust and have the opportunity to show off their skills.
This was followed by a wonderful presentation dinner and Dame Kelly's interview with K2 Performance to launch the special art work on show during the evening. Before everyone departed, the raffle was drawn and prizes were awarded to the best team and for the two challenges on the course. The overall winning team was from ISG, partnered with former Rugby Union full-back, Matt Perry.
As a special treat, thanks to Dartfish, a montage of analysis for each of the golfer's swing gave everyone a laugh - the perfect end to a day that brought many smiles throughout.
